Solar Energy
Solar energy is solar radiation that reaches the Earth's surface from the sun's rays. This energy is then converted into other forms of energy, such as heat and electricity. Location, time of day, time of year and weather condition are all factors in converting solar radiation into solar electricity. New Mexico has a high solar radiation index so most of the state offers a great opportunity to homes and business to install solar collectors. What is Photovoltaic
A photovoltaic cell, commonly referred to as solar PV cells, is the technology used to convert sunlight directly into electrical power. A photovoltaic cell is a non-mechanical device usually made from silicon alloys that captures sunlight to convert it into electricity. Sunlight is made of photons, particles of energy, that are absorbed by the photovoltaic cells. One photovoltaic cell produces about 1-2 watts of energy which is not enough energy to produce electricity for a home or business. These 1-2 watt cells are grouped together in a solar module. The solar modules are then grouped with other modules to create an array of solar panels to create enough electricity to run a home or business. These PV systems can be installed quickly and easily. Photovoltaic cells, generate direct current (DC), for grid tied systems this electricity must be converted from DC to Alternating Current (AC) power. This is done with an inverter, and is main component in your solar energy system.
Solar Modules
As a licensed solar installer we have access to many different solar modules. This versatility allows us to create the most effective system for you based on your budget, location, usage and area for install. Some customers strongly believe in only USA made products and we are able to offer this to you upon your request. 3 Good Reasons for Solar Electricity!
- Solar offers both environmental and financial returns. Government incentives and tax credits from federal and state levels to help reduce the cost of systems to acculturate your return on investment.
- Solar PV electricity generation does not emit poisonous air pollutants into our atmosphere such as CO2, SO2 and NOx. These pollutants reduce air quality, contribute to global warming and a wide variety of health issues.
- Solar PV systems are low maintenance and most have a lifetime of 25 years or more with minimal issues. Ongoing operation and maintenance costs are extremely low compared to existing power energy technologies.
